Why runners should be taking their protein intake more seriously

Historically protein hasn’t typically been viewed as important for endurance athletes/runners in the way it is strength athletes/body building. However, attitudes to both diet and exercise have shifted in more recent years.

As we understand the value of a balanced diet including getting protein intake from plants, not just animal sources has shifted focus towards overall wellbeing including improving gut health. Adequate protein intake still needs to be prioritised in addition to carbohydrates for all endurance athletes/runners.
